Bloomfield Soccer

COVID 19 UPDATE: BHYSL will provide specific protocols consistent with those outlined by the state of Michigan, CDC, and Michigan State Youth Soccer Association. These protocols will be put in place and clearly communicated prior to the start of our season. We want you all to know that the safety and well-being of our participants, families, coaches and staff is our highest priority.



COST: $125 per season
LOCATION: Bloomfield Hills Middle School


* Maximum of 4 teams at BHMS fields at the same time. Max of 12 players per team, approx 48 players, plus coaches and 1- 2 parents per player, trainers and referees.

*New field layout to allow for safe distancing guidelines.

• Players MUST bring their OWN BALL (size 3), water, and any other additional personal equipment necessary.
• Each team will have 20 min instructional warm up with volunteer coach(es) and 1 trainer only on the field.  NO PINNIES will be used, COACHES and TRAINERS ONLY will handle cones and equipment. 
• Immediately following warm up teams will play against scheduled opponent. Games will consist of 4 x 8 min quarters with 2 min break between each quarter.
1 game ball will be used at each field, which will be sanitized before the start of each quarter by the referee.
• All restarts will be KICK INS, to avoid players touching the ball with their hands.
• Coaches, parents and other spectators are NOT permitted to touch the game ball at any time. Only referees, trainers and players.
NO HAND SHAKE LINES at the end of the game.  Instead players will line up, one team on either side of the half line, clap for one another, then turn to sidelines and wave to thank parents.  NO PARENT TUNNELS or CONGRATULATORY LINES for players after the game
NO TEAM SNACKS will be permitted.  Parents can provide individual snacks to their own child ONLY.
• Face mask requirements will be consistent with state mandates.

Warm up Instructional Training will include:
• basic skills of dribbling, shooting and passing, receiving and 1v1 skills
• Basic Laws of the game: out of bounds, corner kicks, goal kicks, free kicks, restart after goal is scored, basic positioning of offense and defense.

Game Play
• 4 x 8 min quarters with 2 min break between each.

*NO DOUBLE HEADERS.  Depending on number of teams, if necessary, teams may play an inter-squad game during one week of the season rather than the previous solution of playing a double header.

*Following games, all players, families and coaches will be asked to leave the facility immediately to allow time for clearing the fields and parking lot area before the next set of scheduled games begins.  The scheduled time between games along with your cooperation with this, will help limit the number of people at the fields at one time and increase the safety for all.  Thank you.

FALL 2020
NEW LOCATION: Conant Elementary School
Cost: $125 per season


  • This is an independent program for children ages 3-5 yrs, with parents observing from the sidelines.
  • Players will be put into groups based on age and/or experience.  Ratio of player to coach not to exceed 8 to 1.
  • Each training session will be 45 mins.
  • Each player will receive a Bloomfield Soccer T-shirt, which will be given out the first week.
  • Players should wear athletic attire, tennis shoes or soccer cleats, and bring their own water. 

Curriculum designed by Director of Coaching, and led by a
trained & experienced coaching staff.  Sessions consist of age appropriate activities based around developing
soccer skills as well as mobility, strength, and coordination. 

Players will be introduced to the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting and ball manipulation, 
while discovering the joy of playing soccer.  They will have fun learning and gain confidence by focusing on 
individual development of skills in a safe learning environment.
